چکیده

Abstract It is known that the spectral radius of a digraph with k edges is ≤ √ k, and that this inequality is strict except when k is a perfect square. For k = m + l, l fixed, m large, Friedland showed that the optimal digraph is obtained from the complete digraph on m vertices by adding one extra vertex and connecting it to the first l/2 vertices by pairs of directed edges. Using a combinatorial reciprocity theorem by Gessel, and a classification by Backelin on the digraphs on s edges having a maximal number of walks of length two, we obtain the following result: for fixed s, k = (m + 1) − s, m large, the maximal spectral radius of a digraph with k edges is obtained by the digraph which is constructed from the complete digraph on m+ 1 vertices by removing s/2 pairs of directed edges that connect to the last vertex.

On spectral radius of strongly connected digraphs

It is known that the directed cycle of order $n$ uniquely achieves the minimum spectral radius among all strongly connected digraphs of order $nge 3$. In this paper, among others, we determine the digraphs which achieve the second, the third and the fourth minimum spectral radii respectively among strongly connected digraphs of order $nge 4$.

Logical s-t Min-Cut Problem: An Extension to the Classic s-t Min-Cut Problem

Let $G$ be a weighted digraph, $s$ and $t$ be two vertices of $G$, and $t$ is reachable from $s$. The logical $s$-$t$ min-cut (LSTMC) problem states how $t$ can be made unreachable from $s$ by removal of some edges of $G$ where (a) the sum of weights of the removed edges is minimum and (b) all outgoing edges of any vertex of $G$ cannot be removed together. If we ignore the second constraint, ca...
